That would be a good long term investment but most people when they talk about long term investments they dont really meant it and instead get scared when things begin to go wrong.

Buy high, sell low, otherwise you panic!

Whales will profit no matter what you do, but it is way better to hold for some time than to try to sell your coins at the first opportunity because that is the fast way to become poor in the world of crypto.
