UFO-Researcher David Wilcock claims, according to his source Dr Pete Peterson, that Bitcoin was invented by a group of white hats within the NSA. Their motivation was that there should be an alternative to the Federal Reserve in case it collapses or its power gets misused. That would make these people "Satoshi". From a technical standpoint this could be true, since these people would have the necessary skills to invent Bitcoin.

He made this remark in this recent presentation of his:

Dr Pete Peterson claims to be a whistleblower and insider to various deep black projects (USAPs) of the US government, in which supposedly fantastic technologies have been developed.

Got your tinfoil hat ready? What do ufologists know about cryptocurrencies? What about Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero and all the other cryptos, who emerged in the wake of decentralized bitcoin network?

A conspiracy theory is an explanation of an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy without warrant, generally one involving an illegal or harmful act carried out by government or other powerful actors. Conspiracy theories often produce hypotheses that contradict the prevailing understanding of history or simple facts.

Christopher Hitchens presents conspiracy theories as the "exhaust fumes of democracy", the unavoidable result of a large amount of information circulating among a large number of people.
