Which 10 Altcoins are the oldest?
Currently I can think of Litecoin (2011), Namecoin(2011), Peercoin (2012),  Ripple (2013), GridCoin (2013) and Dogecoin (2013).
All of them are active till now.  Smiley
Some more can be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptocurrencies
Yeah, I wanted to write about this list.
It is quite surprising that the age doesn't matter a lot. Litecoin, doge and maybe ripple still mean something, whereas the 3 others don't. And ethereum was released later and yet it doesn't make the coin worse. I think that age matters in certain aspects. For instance, a brand new coin has to exist for about a year to prove that it is okay. But I don't think that it is important whether a coin is 2 or 4 years old.

Thats funny, because to me, the first 5 on the list mean something.  Doge, not so much

Namecoin still used for .bit web addresses.  Created to allow for Censorship resistant web addresses.  Independent of ICANN
Peercoin - The first PoS/PoW coin.  Developed by Sunny King.
Gridcoin - Also Curecoin - Both coins used to payout for using Computation power for hashing on the BOINC and @home networks, allowing you to get paid for assisting in finding cures for Cancer, searching for Aliens (SETI) ect.
Ripple - New concept at least, not one that I got into, but at least it wasn't just another fork.
Dogecoin - Was just a joke, that never went away.  Other that that no redeeming quality.  Maybe first coin to feature a Meme as it's logo??  If that can be deemed as something?
