You dont need to research about them you need only to read the whitepaper of a particular ico .so many ico now and it is better to pick the ico that have a full info's about their projects and trusted members
I think the research needs to be done to ascertain whether the project is good or not, before we participate in it, because if we do not check it is very risky to participate in it, then I think if you want to participate and investment should Really do research on a Projects you want to invest.
