No, I've been here for a little while and I can see the newbies are losing too, if you aren't a great sportcapper or specialized in poker and even then the odds are not in your favor as a newbie. Even older and more professional gamblers lose as well.
Before telling newbies to bet, ask them if they are aware that not all the time there's a beginners luck. And everyone is prone in losing so make sure that your friend that is newbie knows his possible fate in gambling. If he will only gamble for fun, it's fine but if he is amazed of the possible profit better to stop him while it's early.
It is a very wrong thing to influence non-gamblers to gambling. It is like you directing them to a darker path instead of helping/guiding them to avoid it.
