.000000000000001 BTC to 1 BTB

It's an altchain released about 24 hours ago with 0 dedicated services and no real purpose other than pump-and-dump. The only think keeping it's price up right now is mindless hype and insane speculation. Assuming this thread is a discussion of the "true" value of one BitBar, I say it is effectively worthless given current conditions since you can't actually use it for anything other than speculation yet.

You seem to spend a lot of time in the alt coin section bashing alt coins. Not trying to be rude but why are you here?

Equality basically hits the nail on the head:

most of them are scams and get rich quick schemes. they're not actually trying to do anything good. you have to create a coin for altruistic reasons and be very good at it to be on bitcoins level. which basically means you have to make improvements on bitcoin. improvements designed to make the world a better place. then you have to release it in an honest way with no premining. the reason most people create alt coins is because of greed and to make the creators rich.

It's hard to buy into this whole "changing the world and making it a better place" dialogue when 90% of the altchains that come out are thinly-veiled attempts to make a quick buck a few individuals at others' expense. It really saddens me to see this subforum in such a state where everyone's so excited about *yet another* currency with dubious improvements over Bitcoin bubble'ing to such a high price in such little time without any real support for it.

I like altchains. I really like what Litecoin, Devcoin, and Namecoin have brought to the table. Bytecoin and other branches which have literally added nothing new, on the other hand, I have extremely little respect for. Hence my "bashing" them.
