recreational drugs must be prohibited. there are lots of ways to party and have fun without harming somebody and yourself.
You should pack up your bags and go to North Korea. Everything is prohibited and everyone is safe....and severely brainwashed. I think you'd like it there.

Hilarious! haha
On the question at hand: Personally I think, if you're an adult and you choose to get high here and there, in the right circumstances, there's nothing wrong with that. To me its no different than having a few glasses of wine occasionally.
What IS the problem, is those who do it to a point where it starts affecting other aspects of your lie. That's when things get messed up. But its not just drugs, some people have the same problem with alcohol, some also with prescription drugs.. Same thing, they use it as a crutch and avoid living in reality and then it f*cks their whole lives up.
I tried a few drugs in my 20's, and honestly I enjoyed the experiences for what they were, some of the funnest times in my life. It was never a problem for me, I never had the urge to do it regularly, and it never affected my work or study (and I owned a business and was at law school at the time). By the time I got to my 30's, I was out of my young partying days, so stopped, life's priorities change and you move on.
Totally agree with you there. Even for those that have issues with substance abuse, even though the vast majority is from legal substances, the ones that do have issues with illegal substances like opioids or stimulants, it's in the current environment with prohibition. People with mental instability shouldn't be on psychoactive drugs, especially when addictive. Everyone knows this. But prohibition isn't only for the mentally unstable - so the rest of society has their liberty stripped away.
