It is still reasonable general audience advice. In one interview, I heard fluffypony add something to effect of "If you are an extreme speculator then sure go ahead and speculate". For anyone else, the advice is perfectly okay. This is not a proven asset, it isn't in a proven asset class. There can be bugs that completely destroy the currency.

If you tell people to not buy Monero, especially with a big fluffy smile, it might have the opposite effect as what Fluffy tries to achieve. It turns into a disclaimer nobody actually reads.
Instead I would suggest to not talk about the Monero price at all (but about the technology and developments in the space instead) and just not give any investment advice at all (to buy or not to buy).
