The technology underlying is not just new currency, its new era of everything
Generally speaking I don't think that Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency could be counted as "new era currency" for many reason but one of the main reason I see is that Fiat Currency is not yet phased out, cryptocurrencies are not even dominating the market yet compared to Fiat. In order to be called a new era currency it as a currency must be wildly accepted by people and more dominant compared to Fiat currency.
perhaps its just another alternatives for fiat using the digital system, bitcoin will or can only be called new era when its already proven the
main goal of being use by the masses are already been fulfilled bitcoin have a lots of time to prove itself and we as the early users will see
that things happen so fast and bitcoin already getting some attention from the mainstream.
