The mining process consists of taking an image of an object. Once the picture is taken, you have to write a description of the image. For example, if I take a picture of an apple, I will then write in the description, "Apple". The data set of the apple will then have to be approved by voters. Once the consensus is made, the image will then be submitted to the database.

As a side note, the image does not have to be taken by the Lampix, it can be any camera enabled device that meets quality standards.
