Ethereum is no way a scam. People would have found out long ago if it was. Eth is currently one of the top5 or even top3 cryptocurrencies today. Even though both are cryptocurrencies, it just doesn't work the same as bitcoin.
I agree. It's good to have a competition between bitcoin and ethereum.
The boiling frog is a parable describing a frog being slowly boiled alive.
