Just to be clear - I was not thinking of a paper wallet as in made out of paper. I was thinking that he should engrave the code to metal or glass instead of having it on paper. 
Unless you have a machine to do that yourself, you have to give the keys to someone to engrave. If they know what the codes mean, you just gave them your wallet.
It's a pretty easy task with a dremmel or similar tool. No problem doing it yourself.
