Is there any reason why they went x11 vs an asic resistant algo? And is there a chance coin algo may change before release or is it set as x11
Helium want to be mined by ASIC miners, we even planning to design our own as well. More hashpower mean more secure network. That is more important then home mining.
not true, you can secure any coin with gpu alone, big farm can do that without problem, look at ETH, it's secured without asic, you can't 51% that easily without buying 2M gpu
