Normally I would not go this route -- but I've found that just mining for Nicehash.com seems to pay much better than trying trying to mine individual coins. 

The Scrypt Altcoins seems to fluctuate very quickly with difficulty these days -- making them profitable for only a short period of time.  Even automatic multi-pools don't seem to be able to keep up with the difficulty swings anymore -- I guess due to so much hashing power out there now.

If you have a lot of time on your hands -- then definitely research individual coins to mine and sell them directly on the exchanges for BTC at the right times.  :-)
