No surprise there. 
You always hear horror stories about Poloniex and their exchanges from numerous of their customers.
Their customer service is quite poor from what I heard as well.
Why anyone would entrust their coin with them is something I can not or ever will understand.

because there are many sheep and then they come on forums complaining that the exchanger is gone
