It seems more like people here are AFRAID of Bitcoin Cash SUCCESS for some reason.
The most vocal group of people here keep saying they will dump BCC as soon as they can.
So if you listen to the bitcointalk echo-chamber you can only deduce that BCC will be dumped into oblivion and die forever.
The reasoning is quite simple: "It's free money so why wouldn't you cash out?"
I err more on the side of caution in the face of a possible success of Bitcoin Cash.
Here is the list of reasons why I think it could happen:
#1 Incentive: The exchanges who have not supported BCC (coinbase, bitstamp, and so on), are now the owners of a shitload of BCC (which they basically stole from their customers). If BCC becomes king those exchanges will be flush with cash, which means they currently have a huge incentive in making BCC succeed.
#2 Incentive: The difficulty of mining BCC will be (if it isn't already) much lower than that of BTC while its price won't be comparatively as low, so miners will have an incentive to switch to BCC.
#3 Volume: Those who keep saying they will dump BCC for free money are bitcoin peasants. They get a hard-on just thinking about making a few grands for free. There might be a lot of them, but they control a very small share of the bitcoin supply, so the price might drop, but in the process their wealth will be transferred to true bitcoin holders, which will only amplify the next peak.
#4 Psychology: BCC has already reached an all time high of $1300 on bittrex and $800 on kraken. This sets a precedent.
#5 Future plans: BCC's upgrade is DONE. There is no uncertainty on the horizon (no SW, 2x, LN, BS, ...).
#6 Risk vs Reward: You can't make a lot of money on BTC, it's already near ATH. BCC is "cheap" and can easily go up 600%. Small risk, high reward.
