Eligius Pool Payout Formula??

I decided to try out Eligius (luke Jr's) pool today & had a nice run of luck, but am confused by the payouts.  The top 3 miners were listed as:

5,961.26 Mhashes/sec est payout 3.7 BTC = 0.62 BTC/GHash
4,470.74 Mhashes/sec est payout 1.4 BTC = 0.31 BTC/GHash
3,556.47 Mhashes/sec est payout 1.3 BTC = 0.37 BTC/GHash
3,528.24 Mhashes/sec est payout 2.9 BTC = 0.82 BTC/GHash
3,362.00 Mhashes/sec est payout 1.6 BTC = 0.47 BTC/GHash

Where the MH is over the last 3 hours and est payout is for the next block.  The current block has been going for 2+ hours, so these should be pretty stable.  My understanding is that this pool is supposed to be pure share driven.  But the miner pulling 6 GH/sec has been sustaining a BTC/Ghash rate that is way above the others.  I've been average ~0.92 BTC at 2.5-2.8GHash/sec for a ratio of ~.38/GHash.

What am I missing here??
