Your logic is correct; by the end of august we should have gotten some updates from the devs about MNE2 and the future of minereum.

If peoples needs MNE1 to buy MNE2, then effectively, both prices will growing and it is a perfect way to update the MNE1 functionalities, and why not, all a MNE familly coins, even better and richer, version after version...
