I'm interested in cloud mining, but according to the white paper, there will be no mining at all for DMD v3.0

If DMD v3.0 launches in September, how can anyone gain a return of investment if they bought cloud mining shares in August or July? There simply isn't enough time left. What will happen to the shares once DMD v3.0 arrives?
