Western culture went soft over the years and that's thanks to the PC culture.
Hear, hear. It's all because we've conditioned people to believe that every opinion and person is precious and beautiful, whereas in all reality this is hardly ever the case. Oh well, empires rise and fall, such is the cycle, and now it's our turn to fall.
