If Tor is fake privacy why are people comfortable buying and selling drugs and weapons on it? I think by now we would of heard abound the thousands being arrested if it wasn't private.

I assume that you know where the research fundings for tor project came from. Indeed there are a lot of news about arrested people, here a couple of recent reports from different countries, there are much more of course but you have to search for it

They were arrested because they left a trail or didn't use Tor properly. There isn't anyone who got caught that took all the right precautions.
