Oh a scrypt algo. How unique is it and popular amongst gpu miners.

I'm aware that Proof-of-work only coins with scrypt algo is synonymous for a lazy coin nowadays.
But here's our take:
- We believe in Proof-of-Work. It gives GOLDC wanna-be holders with no money but have access to computer resources get a chance to mine their own GOLDC. Meanwhile, POS will not let you do that and it's also prone to centralization of coin generation (mostly by the core devs).
- We decided to use the scrypt algo with a very low block rewards (40 to 10 GOLDC) to discourage big miners and avoid ASIC mining. We want our blockchain to be dominated by small miners to give them more chance to generate GOLDC. We also want to have block rewards until year 2728 to avoid ridiculous fees and to have a very little touch of inflation.
- Most of popular altcoins have their own different algorithms to please the community and to show their competence but I believe scrypt is working properly well to avoid the sha256 asic miners. Also, complicated algorithms will only result to additional (but not necessary) computer processes that leads to slower propagation of transactions to other nodes. We value efficiency than unnecessary abstractions. Gold is a user-centric blockchain.
