You don't know what are you talking about. You only see red color on the altcoin list on Poloniex or orther exchange. That is only effect of rising Bitcoin price. If you compare price of any altcoin with fiat you will see that price has not changed much.
Most investors here bought there Alts with bitcoin or trade in bitcoin. Many with the intention of accumulating more bitcoin. Anyone who bought Alts with bitcoin after the spring rise is likely severely down vs btc
