I do both most of the time, But prefer trading Bitcoin rather than simply gambling it, considering that trading isn't necessarily a negative house edge game unlike gambling and you can improve the possibilities of profit if you make good enough choices.
Gambling is a game which depends on luck and house edge etc, while trading is a proper technique and business which involves proper study of the coins , graphs and candles and if trading done properly after experience and research,will give you definite profit. There is no grantee of win in gambling.
In trading, there is really no guarantee of winning trades as well but we are most likely will going to win when we do our research first before trading and having some pre-planned trading - time to enter and time to get out of the market.
