What do you mean by richness and what do you mean by good old days,when there was no technology  do you think the past was prosperous ,which i highly doubt because the life was hard in the past,unless you are mentioning about the recent past ,even then i could not get it.

If you are careful about your security then the coins will be secure,sure hardwallet wallet is more secure than saving in your lap which is having access to internet. Since i am not seeing much opportunity for me to purchase the coins right now in my country i would rather convert it to coin if i needed but i am holding my bulk for the future.
