Well the game keno is pronounce 'key-no' here in the USA, so when I see Kano my mind reads 'kay-no'. Great, now I've gotta retrain my mind! 
in US (at least in some places) even va-cation is pronounced vey-cation, LOL and jaguar is pronounced either as jag-u-ar or jag-wire.
