Well, I think it always depends on the devs of a particular coin if his plans and motives capture the needs of the enthusiasts or even investors see a potential in it then it will soon follow the steps of Bitcoin. If we invested into a particular coin then we believe in it. The advantages would be a huge profit from it since we invested since it's price is low therefore we only need smaller capital to invest and the disadvantages are the sudden crash of the price and no available local merchants for the said coin to accept as mode of payment.
