hii I want to store my bitcoins for long, will only be adding bitcoins to my wallet and not spending any, I just have one computer and don't want to buy (couldn't afford to right now) trezor for cold storage and no paper wallet.
My question is can i install electrum on my laptop, after writing down my seed somewhere safe then uninstalling it right away after exporting my master public key. After that I will install electrum again as a watch only wallet.
will that be safe?
Start electrum in safe mode if you're using Windows. (Safe mode without networking).
Generate your seed and your master publci key.
Then delete the folder electrum_data.
Then boot your computer in regular mode and produce a watch-only version of that wallet. That should be safer than doing it all on the online part f your computer.
