Gambling cannot be considered as an earning mean. It can be done for fun with only affordable loss of money.  All addicts have not that strong will power or determination that can help them to overcome addiction by themselves. Some really need attention from others, especially the closer ones with whom they share everything.

Lets stop this for fun issue and stuff. You cant possibly think that you could have fun in a gambling aite. Afterall you are only playing because you could get some money, otherwise you wont really have any fun at all. Sometimes it is hard to acknowledge this issue but atleast now you are aware of it
I have a little different opinion in this matter. First I also thought that all gamblers want money but then I realized this kind which does gambling for fun and it is their whole purpose.
They do not bet more than they can afford to lose and when they win, it obviously makes them happy. But if one is not able to put limits then he must give up.
It's never easy to quit something that has been a big part of your life, knowing that you are always onto it and making hours on it just to play. It's not going to be easy but I think it can be done, there should be support groups that are willing to listen to you and help you overcome the addiction. I agree with you that limits is a very important thing to master when gambling and especially, patience.
