The "longest chain" is measured in blocks
weighted by difficulty. There are several chains with more blocks than Bitcoin.
But those chains don't have a common genesis block and fork with the other prong. Long chain is unimportant. Longest chain after a fork with the shared history is everything.
This
weighted by difficulty is bullshit. Where does it say that? That might be what it
should say. But that is not what it says.
Bitcoin Cash isn't compatible with the Bitcoin genesis block because it's a hard fork. I don't see how this is different than other altcoins which have "longer chains" at much lower difficulty. It's very easy to mine BCH blocks, compared to BTC.
