it makes perfect sense. it stops an army of sock puppets signing up and gaming it. no doubt there are a bunch here anyway but that cuts out a good amount.
Don't mind him, ranking on this thread is a process, so for Newbies accounts to be poping up from know where because of Airdrop campaign will have wrong effect on the project.
Newbies don't need to worry because there will be more successful Airdropped projects in the future he can participate in
