Until I see evidence that Geo exists and has a future, why would I waste my time on vaporware?
I'm supposed to make an app that lets people harvest coins they can't even withdraw? That's a laughably bad idea.
You are absolutely right. Right now you can not develop applications based on GeoCoin, because it uses fork of Bitcoin's blockchain.
GeoCoin on smart-contracts it will have public API. It will allow third-party developers to cooperate.
When they will move to smart-contracts it will be evidence of their intentions. And also, basicly, if developers announce a roadmap and follow it, it is a good sign.
Implementation of each step in roadmap will be another big news.
