I would like to try to get into mining altcoins. I was thinking of first getting a single, not that expensive (1000-2000$) unit and see how it goes.
But I'm having a problem finding them.
I've only found out 3 companies, bitman, innosilicon and baikal. With the last being the most interesting to me with all that different algos it supports, but it's sold out. Not to mention I've read a LOT of complaints about all those 3 companies.
What am I missing here? Is this really how the ASIC market is like?
Do the experienced miners here have any recommendation for me?

You can get the Baikalminers pretty cheap on eBay since the the Antminer D3 has been announced. Prices for a Baikal 600Mh were up tp 4000$ before 4 months. Now you can find it for 1500$.
