I'm mining Deep Onion on X13 with my AMD Radeon R9 290X using sgminer. I do not know if it will ever be profitable, at the moment I'm doing it for learning purposes 
Better choose sth more profitable that you can sell and buy onions instead of mining...its more efficient.

do research! I check whattomine nearly every day to figure out whats the best with my hardware. atm eth+lbc or eth+dcr...its different every day!
Until the coins are all close at 34/38 dollars don't bother yourself to change mimer everytime or it will drive you crazy... choise what u like... eth is always good btw
