The way I see it, people putting their trust in a currrency is what determine its value.  the name of the currency is small reason out of many to put your trust in such.

But the appeal of what brings you to the coin are first impressions. Reason for coin/mechanics, dev team, etc. If you have a coin that is named tittyfuckcoin, not many people besides weridos would look at it. Marketing/branding means A LOT in a world that is saturated with so many things that demand our time and attention. Branding will leave a "lasting mark" in your mind, bringing you back to the coin someway somehow..

Brand - Old English, of Germanic origin; related to German Brand, also to burn. The word originally meant ‘burning’ or ‘a piece of burning or smoldering wood’ (sense 3 of the noun); the verb sense ‘mark permanently with a hot iron’ dates from late Middle English. The noun sense ‘mark of ownership made by branding,’ based on the latter, arose in the mid 17th century, and from it is derived sense 1 (early 19th century).
