You should also consider a USB miner from ASICMINER.  There are probably some group buys going on right now.  300MH/s for 2.1 BTC.  Maybe not the least expensive way to get in, but if your electricity is expensive it may be your best shot at getting ahead.  Of course, you have to buy BTC to mine BTC.
