Its pretty good actually. WAYY better then things like Etherdelta, Liqui or Cryptopia, those are just horrible. At least Gatecoin is already a proper exchange.
Etherdelta front end is horrible but it's a decentralized exchange. You have the private key and every exchange takes place on ethereum smart contract.
This being said there is no risk of somebody running away with your money, seizure from authorities etc. There is no one behind it.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Even so, it's terrible to use EtherDelta. it badly needs a site redesign. I hope Real gets listed on some real(sic) exchanges.
