While The Scarab Experiment is still accepting artwork for voting and inclusion as official works, there has been a slight change to the process. In order to ensure that each of SCARABs artwork fits within a style, fitting of the project, there will be a step using a new imaging method technology.
This process will take each winning artwork and process it with SCARABs logo using a variable algorithm in order to create a wholly new image. That image will then be painted with oil on canvas and therefore produce a wholly new work of art. Not only will this keep SCARABs art completely original and unique but it will also alleviate any storage issues we had before. Earlier artwork that was accepted was to be held by the artist themselves as they acted as custodian for it, now theres no need to require the artists to be held liable for the art. This should be a welcomed development that benefits all of our members in the community. This will not effect the rewards given to the artists, who still will receive a generous 1,000 Scarab Tokens for each artwork accepted as well as a 10% for the sale of the art and 5% for the sale of editions/prints.
By using this process each SCARAB artwork will be the product of many of The Scarab Experiment participants instead of just a single artist. This aligns itself with the vision of SCARAB as a new kind of artist that were all creating. Not only do we have a new kind of artist but now we also have a complimentary and new kind of artwork.
