I love MPH, but for nicehash on coins with long time to find, you might be best off using some of the PPS, or RBPPS pools out there, anything else is essentially just gambling.

Unfortunately I've missed the opportunity to check there in time (i.e. before the next block was found). As it's PPLNS my best guess is now that I've been just unfortunate with the timing of my burst and it just happened at the very beginning of a pretty long round so that my shares probably have been dropped.

It should tell you if you on that dashboard if have any shares in the pool. It's PPLNS so you have to keep mining and it will trickle in even after you have stopped. You don't get paid like a pay-as-you-go tariff; miners simply 'pool' their recourses together in the attempt at finding a block.
