To sentence someone to death is the best way to prevent recidivism. There have been countless incidents where inmates killed other inmates or correctional officers while in prison. Some inmates even escape from prison. For the most part prison is hell, however, they do get fed everyday, free medicare, free time in the gym or yard, and they get other privileges such as TV for good behavior.
