I strongly recommend a complete mental checkup for you and your wife. Could you please give me your ID details? I think it will be better to inform the Child Protection Services (CPS), so that they could take away the kid to some safe location. But I would still advice you to get medical help. This can be a sign of acute psychosis. If you don't get treatment in time, then it can become incurable.
Yeah, it does sound pretty bad. I just hope this is just a story and nothing more.
