I keep these coins on the exchange. Where do I better keep them so that they can be of some use?

Once Hybrid and Masternodes have been released you will be better off holding and controlling your own Bata so that you can stake.

When do you estimate this will be? This month?

It's best I don't give estimates as I am not the one coding. The best place to keep up to date is Slack or Telegram.
