An considering buying 5 top cryptocurrencies and storing them in a wallet till the prices are up then I can sell them.

If you are that kind of person who likes to play in risky trades like me then what you should do is that when a coin gets launched and is not on an exchange or maybe on a not so well known exchange then you should buy that coin for cheap and hold and when it get listed on a well known exchange then sell it and there would be a profit of many folds.
BTW here are my picks: NEO, Ripple, Monero, Waves and BCC.
