I'm aware of the thread - no need to bump it.

Although it's not my call in the end (theymos is the one who can add new boards), I don't think the suggested sections would add much value compared to the immense workload they would create. Just having to figure out the "new revolutionary coin's" specs would generate massive amounts of busywork, let alone deciding whether this new obscure altcoin belongs in one section or another, especially when it's obfuscated via marketing or just shitty presentation (both of whom are equally common). I wouldn't be so skeptical about the number of threads posted in wrong boards after the creation of a new section if 40-60% of my thread moves in Altcoin Discussion wouldn't be to Speculations (Altcoins) - one of the newer boards.

I may consider asking for something akin to a token announcement sub-board some time in the future but I still have to think about it.

I agree, it's like 50 shitcoin ICO's a day - you cannot differ between "real" coins and scams anymore

And yes, you guys are right when listing the problems inherent with using this forum as the sole source of information about an altcoin, along with a thousand other coins. Which is the reason people spam in the first place, because there is no specific board for mining a particular coin, or for services for a coin, or whatever else. The only real answer is to setup coin specific forums, any serious coin will do this. The rest are pump and dumps, or scams that won't be around long enough, and we aren't going to cater to them. We won't setup coin specific boards here either. Spamming is a crutch people have used to get around these limitations, and it's getting out of hand.

This thread got buried quickly. How do we get it in-front of a mod?
A moderator's opinion is pretty much worthless on this.
Not completely. While I can't create boards on my own, I can and have both requested and had new boards created within the altcoin sections.
