So theoretically, if bitmain and all their miners they run shut down, 1-2 days before difficulty change, would enough hashing power come off the network to actually drop difficulty, i would think if that was possible they would be doing that to lock in another two weeks of higher profitability.
and if they think their gov is shutting them down they will mine and dump as much as they can until the shut down.
as for canaan.io
they mention the 20th
but if their gov forbid btc to cash trading they may not sell from china and ship to usa which is why I ordered 1 from the usa distributor
It seems to me they made the only business decision that makes sense for a company of their size. They outsourced to a distributor; who is equipped, experienced, and ready to handle small order business.
This way they can still handle large orders from businesses capable of easily paying by Wire Transfer, and ship to their distributor without interruption.
Even just looking at how people and myself ordered. Canaan could ship 3 pallets to the distributor, that's 1 order that they can handle seemlessly.
The distributor now operating within a few hours of our time zones for most people I noticed having trouble ordered, have an online store and stock management system in place to break those 180 units down into probably 100-130 orders. The new payment system also takes care of all the back and forth Canaan dealt with. Sounds like a good system, I hope the cancelled order was a one off that may have been an issue in stock management.
Time will tell.
