For solid long term value, price should follow behind development, not the other way round.
Speculation will exist anywhere there is a chance for short term profits. A long term investor can benefit from price declines when speculators turn pessimistic about an asset. As long as you believe in the long term value of an investment you don't need to worry about short term price swings.
