[ .. ] yes power is VERY expensive here in Aus, and as we as a household use so much power all of my hashing power is essentially at top tier = 38c per kw/h. Looks like GPU mining is over.
OTOH if you buy an ASIC, it'll pay your electricity bills - for a while at least.
If you don't mind waiting up to a year for it.......
Never said it would pay for itself, just the power bills
