Don't worry.

Instead of 5,000 at the original 8,000 difficulty, you'll now get 2,500 shares at 16,000 difficulty. Both situations give you the same amount of work / profit. It helps manage pool traffic when more users start mining. Twice as many miners + double the share difficulty = same amount of traffic as before.
