ASIC is the best, but is hard to get one (rare auctions, lack of bitcoins when you are new, etc.). For newbies easiest (and more expensive) way is to start with GPU. My default rigs are PCs with 2x7970 (best performance on the market), have 4 of them and 10 more will be up and running by the end of the week
