Why would they be lost? If you need it to go back to 4-5k in one month then yes you are. Long term we do not know if you have made the best investment in your life or if you were a fool 
It all depends on the devs and community. If the devs keep working the coin will gain credibility and usability, then and only then will we see 1 dollar +.
